Earth Hour 2024.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! After Earth Hour, share your participation with #EarthHour and #EarthHourYYC. Email programs@arusha.org with questions.

Calgary Corn Maze & Fun Farm.

Visit the award-wining Calgary Corn Maze & Fun Farm for a full petting zoo with kittens, bunnies, goats, sheep, mini donkeys, and horses. Ride on the cow train and grain wagon, jump on jumping pillows, play mini golf and enjoy playground activities. There is hours of entertainment for all ages! Directions: Take Stoney Trail SE (Highway 201) to Highway 22X East. Take the Highway 22X East exit. This exit is located at the very southeast corner of Stoney Trail (where Stoney Trail SE changes from running east/west to north/south). Drive on Highway 22X East for 3.2 kilometers (approx. 2 minutes) to Range Road 285 (watch for a blue Calgary Corn Maze highway sign prior to this intersection as well as a RV storage place with a big white fence). Turn right (south) onto Range Road 285. Drive 1.4 kilometers and take your first left (east) onto Township Road 224. Drive 1.6 kilometers. We're on your left!

Teach your child about courage, unity, joyfulness, and caring in an afternoon of fun and adventure. An event for the whole family that you will want to be a part of. Recommended for children aged 5 to 12, but created with the entire family in mind. Come one hour before the show & enjoy family friendly activities. Stay after to meet the performers. Visit your community library to register and receive your TD Summer Reading Club booklet and Reading Ballots. Then have fun reading! Books, magazines, trivia books, comics and everything else counts. Read for two hours each week (or be read to) and track your reading on the Reading Ballots. Return your completed ballots throughout the summer for a chance to win weekly prizes and grand prize: one of 20 $100 gift cards to Toys "R" Us.
