Star Trek: The Starfleet Academy Experience is coming to Calgary’s science centre February 4 to June 4! Experience a “career day” at the Starfleet Academy. From the quirky phantasmagoria of George Antheil's “Serenade for Strings” to the character-piece movements of Telemann's “The Nations Suite,” Kensington Sinfonia presents an evocative program of music surrounding characters and storytelling. The programme also includes Purcell's wonderful “Chaconne” from King Arthur and “Chase the Money” by Canadian composer John Oliver with saxophonist Jeremy Brown. The winner of Kensington Sinfonia’s 7th Annual Student Concerto Competition, 11-year-old cellist Ephraim Chen, will also join the Sinfonia to perform the cello concerto in C minor by Johann Christian Bach.
