At Between Friends, we offer social and recreational programs for people with disabilities to connect, grow, and belong. Camp Bonaventure is our inclusive summer day camp, for youth ages four to 17. Camp Bonaventure provides a safe and accessible space for campers to make long-lasting friendships and be who they are. Campers will have fun with activities like canoeing, sailing, swimming, arts and crafts, and more! Come join us for a fun-filled summer!
Camp Amicus is a unique summer camp program designed specifically for children and youth ages eight to 18 with learning disabilities and/or ADHD. Our camp goals are to increase the camper's confidence, self-esteem, and social skills in a fun and safe environment. With our 3:1 ratio of campers to counselors, participants are able to get the individualized attention that they deserve and need. Financial assistance is available, and most camps qualify for FSCD Funding.
RCC offers after school, weekend and summer camp programming for children and youth ages six to 17. A 3:1 staff/youth ratio ensures that we are able to plan recreational and growth opportunities that are specific to your child’s developmental needs. Ask us about free programming, subsidy and billing to Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD).
Camp Cadicasu is a traditional overnight camp in Kananaskis Country for children ages five to 16. We have specialty camps available just for tweens and teens in addition to our Leader-in-Training program (for 16-year-olds). Activities at Cadicasu include hiking, archery, arts and crafts, yoga, earth skills, campfires, shelter building, and much more. We create a safe space where people of all different backgrounds can come together to connect with each other and nature.
Camp Kasota West, located on the shores of Sylvan Lake, is an overnight camp for children and youth. Trained counselors provide programming including archery, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, crafts, campfires, discovery hour. Specialty programs: Sailing and Counselors-in-Training. Transportation from Calgary provided. The camp is accredited by the Alberta Camping Association and the United Church. For more information and to register online, visit the website.
YMCA Calgary operates an overnight summer camp and outdoor education program site at Camp Chief Hector YMCA. Operated year-round, Camp Chief Hector YMCA provides nature-based programming to youth. Campers get to immerse themselves in nature and gain leadership skills through facilitated programs such as archery, canoeing, low ropes courses, and so much more. These outdoor spaces and overnight camps allow YMCA Calgary to deliver programs, services, and opportunities to help the Calgary community connect with others, build lifelong skills, and keep active and healthy.
