Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! After Earth Hour, share your participation with #EarthHour and #EarthHourYYC. Email programs@arusha.org with questions.

Calgary Stampeders Fanfest, Presented by Alberta Ram Dealers.

The always-popular Stampeders event, Fanfest, presented by Alberta Ram Dealers, is held annually at McMahon Stadium and serves as the unofficial kickoff to the upcoming football season! This year's event will be on Saturday, May 23 from 8:30am to 1pm, and will run rain or shine, so be sure to bring the whole family to this Free event! The day starts at 8:30 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast served up in the East parking lot, located across from the Ticket Office and Stamps Store. Once the gates open at 9:30 a.m., there are interactive inflatables and games on the field, the opportunity to interact with Stampeders players, coaches, Outriders, Ralph the Dog and get autographs. You can also pose for a photo with the Grey Cup, sign up for the Kids Club and browse through the latest authentic gear at the Stamps Store. Fanfest is also the first opportunity for fans to pick up their season tickets for the coming year. If you haven't purchased your season tickets yet, sales staff will be on site to help you find the perfect seats for a full season of CFL excitement!

Authors Judy Arnall ("Parenting with Patience") and Deborah Fannie Miller ("Grappling with the Grumblies") join forces to help families process anger together with more confidence and lighter hearts! Come join Judy and Deborah for an interactive, fun and informative one-hour workshop offering playful and practical tools (and 2 books!) Families with children of all ages (and babies) are welcome. When anger and anxiety threaten to disconnect us, we can reconnect by understanding how the emotions affect our bodies, speech and minds. We'll work with our grumblies so we can spend less time fighting and more time laughing together.
