Back From Extinction! Dinosaurs Alive! is back at the Calgary Zoo. Runs until the end of October. You can travel back to prehistoric times and get up close with all 16 new animatronic dinosaurs with your general admission pass or zoo membership. Get up close with 16 new lifelike animatronic dinosaurs (they won’t bite). Download the zoo app and experience the dinosaurs in 3D like never before! Hear them roar! The dinosaurs are louder than the lions at dinnertime. Pull up your paleontologist sleeves and go looking for fossils at the new dig site. Explore Prehistoric Park with three new loops. Roar like you mean it on the new T. Rex slide. Enjoy a prehistoric hands-on experience at the new dinosaur interpretive centres. Dinosaurs poo too. Snap a photo with a pile of… well, you know. Discover fun dinosaur facts with zoo staff during daily programs. What came first: the dinosaur or the egg? Ponder this while striking a pose with dino eggs.

Viewer's Choice Drive-In Movie Night at Deerfoot City.

Destination: Deerfoot City is excited to present the Deerfoot City Drive-In Movie Series every Wednesday night for five weeks beginning July 29. The perfect mid-week date or family night out, this year’s event celebrates the tradition of summer drive-ins, with the added excitement of pre-show activities, snacks and entertainment by BassBus, known for throwing some of the most memorable music events in Calgary. The gates open each night at 5pm with movies beginning at sunset. Moviegoers are welcome to drive in and stay cozy in the comfort of their ride, or bring chairs and blankets to enjoy the show in the open air. Arriving on time to get a good spot is key, as full capacity crowds are expected each night. Admission is free with cash donations being accepted for the Brown Bagging for Calgary’s Kids charity.
