Proud Winner of the 2012 Calgary Award for Commerce
We are so proud to announce that Calgary's Child Magazine has been honored with the 2012 Calgary Award for Community Achievement in the category of Commerce. Established in 1994, The Calgary Awards is The City's official citizen recognition program celebrating Calgarians and local organizations for their outstanding achievements and significant contributions for improving the quality of life in Calgary. Mayor Nenshi and Members of City Council will recognize the recipients at the Awards ceremony on June 12, 2013.
Summer shorts and tees purchased, washed and folded neatly in the duffle bag. Bug spray, cell phone charger and the one allowable stuffed animal all packed. Immunization card submitted. Survival snacks tucked away. We were ready for her first week away from home on her own. My daughter was 10 years old and headed to summer pre-teen church camp.
I know with my friends, our kids attained that coveted potty trained status at different ages, some around two, some closer to three-and-a-half and others just before four. Some kids seemed to achieve it rather easily – while others started and revolted, started again, revolted a bit more and then committed. No two potty training stories seemed to be the same.
