Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! After Earth Hour, share your participation with #EarthHour and #EarthHourYYC. Email programs@arusha.org with questions.

Penguin Walk at the Calgary Zoo.

2020 marks the 8th year of the Calgary Zoo Penguin Walk! The king penguin colony heads out on the zoo grounds for a daily enrichment walk in the winter months and visitors get to experience the fun! This incredible program allows visitors to get an up-close look at the group of king penguins as they explore, exercise, and waddle their way through the zoo. This is a free-choice activity for the penguins and is subject to weather conditions.

LEGO® CITY Garage Challenge.

Kids can build and test a LEGO® car on the LEGO® CITY Garage Gameboard but be careful as a roll of the dice can send you forward or backward! Make it to the garage to complete your test. Black History Month Celebration at Marlborough Mall.

Experience an Afro-Caribbean inspired showcase in celebration of Black History Month at Marlborough Mall in partnership with 10 x Music & Culture. 10 X Music & Culture is an event and media platform dedicated to showcasing artists, cultivating culture and promoting Calgary’s hip-hop community to the world. Join in the festivities and kick off Black History Month by celebrating with live music, a fashion show, spoken word and entertainment. This free event takes place by the Food Court.

Skate Party and Winter Festival.
