Foothills Academy offers a full-time school program for students with Learning Disabilities from Grades 3 to 12. We provide targeted support in literacy, numeracy, and executive functioning for each student while also covering the full Alberta Education curriculum in small classes and a supportive environment. GRIT Calgary Society is a long-standing program of excellence meeting the diverse needs of preschool children with developmental disabilities in and around the Calgary area. This Alberta Education funded program provides specialized and individualized home, community and school-based education.  A team of experienced professionals work in collaboration with parents to provide an effective and dynamic educational experience. With the core belief that communication is the foundation for lifelong learning, the multidisciplinary team supports all developmental areas of need and endeavors to ensure that children become full participants at home, school and in their community. 

The Learning Disabilities & ADHD Network provides free resources and helpful, reliable information for individuals with a Learning Disability and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as for those who live, play, and work with them. The Network is a collaborative group which fosters action towards meeting the needs of people with LD/ADHD. Our Kindergarten to Grade 12 school was created for students who have autism spectrum disorder or similar learning differences such as sensory integration difficulties, impairments in social interaction, and difficulties with emotional control and interpersonal skills as set out in each student's IPP.

ABS Psychological Services was founded by Alexandra Suvanto, Registered Provisional Psychologist. She provides therapy to children, adolescents, and their families. Support for school staff is also offered, along with private assessments. Alexandra’s passion is helping young minds explore their world a little more clearly, allowing the chance for growth and change when ready.

It’s not uncommon for parents to believe they will know if their child has a vision problem. However, vision and eye health issues can be hard to spot, particularly if there is a problem in only one eye. As 80 percent of learning is visual, annual comprehensive eye exams with your doctor of optometry are recommended and there is Alberta Health coverage available towards these eye exams. The Calgary Safety Council is an organization dedicated to the promotion of safety and the prevention of injuries and fatalities on the streets and highways, in the home and work place.The Safety City program is held at our Safety City location during April to June and September to October. Each class is 90 minutes in duration. This program is centered towards children ages four to six years of age, class size is one to 16 students.
