Open select nights, October 10 to 31. The Devil’s Drive-In is the first such attraction in Calgary! Not even a pandemic can squash the spirits of Halloween. This year, Haunted Calgary is reimagining what a haunted attraction may look like, bringing you terror like never before - all from the safety of your parked vehicle! Choose your own nightmare! With three original theatrical productions to choose from, including a family-friendly option, there is something for everyone. Buckle up because once you're parked, you'll be plunged into a 7-minute story from which there is no escape. This will be the Halloween attraction that everyone is talking about, so don't miss out! Tickets are extremely limited, only available by online presale, and are expected to sell out nightly, so don't wait! Tickets are sold by vehicle and you can have as many people as seatbelts, so grab your cohort for a fun night out! Or come alone if you want an extra thrill!

Takes place October 16 to 25. Power down, look up, and enjoy the enthralling night sky at Jasper’s Dark Sky Festival! The Festival’s 10th Anniversary will attract legions of amateur astronomers to the world’s second largest accessible dark sky preserve in a new, physically-distanced way. Events may be smaller to adhere to COVID-19 regulations, but the self-guided activities will be bigger than ever! Don’t miss your chance to hear celebrated Canadian astronauts Robert Thirsk and Nicole Stott share their experiences aboard the International Space Station. The out-of-this-world experiences continue with Symphony Under the Sun, Peak-Nic under the Stars, After Dark Trivia Night, and a family-friendly Animals of the Night Hike - plus so much more! Come and spend active quality time together at Kamp Kiwanis! Family Active Living Days are designed for all ages to come out and enjoy the natural outdoor setting and engage in activities such as archery, canoeing, crafts, nature walks, orienteering and more. Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. Date: Saturday, March 23, 2024 Time: 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Location: Central Library (800 3 Street SE) Join us for music, entertainment, and opportunities to experience what environmental actions you can take in Calgary. Pedal power midway games and experience how our natural world affects our daily lives. Bring personal lighting and dance to the DJ when the lights go down for the Earth Hour party! Calgary Unplugged is hosted by The Arusha Centre's Climate Program, with support from The City of Calgary and community agencies. If you can't make it to the event, turning off nonessential lights, "unplug" from electronics at 8:30 and reconnect with people, games or hobbies! The great outdoors has made its way inside TELUS Spark and adventure is calling! The world may seem like it’s been flipped upside down and inside out in 2020. Learn how to ground yourself in this safe indoor pathway science exhibit that immerses you into the great outdoors without being outside. You'll learn about the science of the hormones that keep you happy. After all, happiness is key! The exhibit features a boardwalk that guides you through micro-habitats peppered with tips, tricks, and strategies for resiliency during uncertain times. The experience focuses on the science behind neurotransmitters from serotonin to endorphins and its role in boosting mental health and well-being. This exhibit is included with general admission or membership to Spark. Members must reserve tickets for entry.

Come and enjoy an afternoon listening to stories and some of Canada’s finest musicians. Storyteller/Musician Samantha Whelan Kotkas and her friends will entertain you and your children with musical interactive tales of child-accessible hikes in the Rocky Mountains. Teach your child about courage, unity, joyfulness, and caring in an afternoon of fun and adventure. An event for the whole family that you will want to be a part of. Pumkin Days takes place Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, September 17 to October 31. Thursdays: 10am to 5pm. Fridays to Sundays: 10am to 5:30pm. Picking the perfect pumpkin at the Farmyard is an annual tradition for many families and friends. In addition to enjoying hours of fun on the farm, pumpkins are on display for photos and for purchase. All carving pumpkin proceeds will be donated to local charities. Admission includes access to the entire farm with the exception of the Paintball gallery and gemstone mining. Pumpkins for photo ops and for purchase are available each day. Larger pumpkin displays will be set up on the weekends. Timed tickets are available on a weekly basis and must be purchased in advance as daily attendance capacities are in effect. Season passholders do not require timed tickets.

Fall is in the air and Kayben Farms is so excited to be opening up again! There are some changes to how the park operates with the current government regulations, so visit the website before heading to out. New Fall hours: September 11 to October 31, Friday to Sunday. Pre-purchase admission online before arriving. You may use your ticket for any one day of the 2020 season!

Pumpkin Fest takes place weekends in October, in specific 2-hour windows. Stroll through the farmyard and find your perfect pumpkins! Add in some great animal visits, fabulous Fall photo-ops, pony rides, a ride through Scarecrow Alley in the back woodlands (spectacular at this time of year) and you’ve got the must-do socially-distanced Fall fun day, great for the whole family! When visiting the farm, make sure the adult/child ratio is at least 1:3 and that all attendees are aware of the Farm's safety rules. To read the COVID guidelines, visit the website. Admission tickets to Harvest Pumpkin Fest must be pre-purchased online.

Takes place Saturdays and Sundays in October and Thanksgiving Monday from 11am to 5pm (October 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 24, 25, 31 and November 1). Walk through the pumpkin patch, take beautiful photos, and pick your favorite pumpkins to buy for Halloween carving! There will be princesses there for photos, too! It's an event for the whole family that you won't want to miss! Must purchase tickets on the website.

October 16 to 18, October 23 to 25, 4 to 10:20pm; October 30 to November 1, 4 to 10:20pm (open until 11:20pm on October 31). Calling all ghouls and goblins! Come enjoy a safe, spooktacular, family-friendly round of mini golf at WinSport! This fun, intermediate 18-hole outdoor course will transform into a Halloween extravaganza (brought to you by the makers of Grim Manor). The course will be well lit and challenge all ages and abilities while offering a safe Halloween activity. Dress up and get into the Halloween spirit! It's a spooktacular good time for the entire family! The course will take up to 60 minutes to complete depending on how quickly you proceed through the course. Timed bookings (advanced and online only) will allow adequate distancing between groups, there will be very limited capacity for walk-ups on the day of so book in advance to guarantee availability. Heightened cleaning measures are in place.

Masks are required for all who attend. Costumes are encouraged! Walk through a house of horrors, the physically-distanced alternative to the annual Bowness Halloween Jellybean Dance! There will be creepy characters, blood, monsters, slayers, scary surprises, and a candy treat at the end. The BCA will be collecting donations of snacks for students at Bowcroft School. If you'd like to donate, bring nut-free, individually-wrapped snacks such as granola bars, fruit cups, crackers, dehydrated fruit or vegetable chips, nut-free granola, or juice boxes. The BCA is taking extra precautions and cleaning high-touch surfaces often. Guests will be provided hand sanitizer at the door, and must not enter the building if they are experiencing any symptoms, have recently travelled internationally, or have recently come into contact with anyone with COVID-19. This is your opportunity to show off your costume and get into the Halloween spirit! This event is designed for school-aged kids who enjoy scary themes and will involve sudden movement and creepy elements, so parents should use their own discretion when bringing their kids. Everyone coming through the haunted house, including parents, needs a ticket. Kids of volunteers get in for free. Volunteers are needed for the roles of actors, ticket-takers, setup, and cleanup.
