Weekends were made for brunch

What’s better than weekend brunch? All-you-can-eat weekend brunch.

What’s better than weekend brunch? All-you-can-eat weekend brunch with endless options from breakfast to international lunch dishes, salads, desserts, interactive chef stations, and more! And the best part is that you can try a little bit of everything! It’s a sure way to please everyone in the family. I’ve eaten my way through some of the best brunch buffets in Calgary, and I’m happy to share some of my favorites:

ELYMI (3010 – 23 Street NE)

ELYMI stands for “Eat Like You Mean It” – and they mean it! ELYMI opened in Calgary in April 2024 and is a single-location, family-run local restaurant.

ELYMI’s brunch buffet is jam-packed with a huge variety of cuisine, and they take pride in their international offerings. At ELYMI, you can find the usual breakfast items, such as eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, and French toast, as well as an omelette and waffle station with all of the fixings. You can also find fish, dim sum, and even pierogies in the buffet. I love that their desserts are pre-plated in individual bowls and you just grab the individual serving bowls. And they did not forget about the kids! The kids’ buffet has macaroni and cheese, French fries, chicken tenders, and a delicious gooey cheese pizza. In fact, the cheese pizza was one of my favorite buffet items – the cheese pizza and the spicy green beans from the salad buffet! The beans were crisp with a good amount of heat in them.

When you walk into ELYMI, you will instantly notice that it is full of families, and understandably so when you know that there is something for everyone.

They also have fun theme nights that are great for families. Sunday’s Homestyle Dinner includes items such as roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, pork ribs, chicken, mussels and clams, butter garlic shrimp, and cabbage rolls. There’s Tuesday’s South of the Border Dinner, which includes BBQ beef brisket, grilled chicken, baby back ribs, seafood boil, Jamaican oxtail stew, curry goat, Mexican street corn, and macaroni and cheese. There’s also Wednesday’s Pub Night Dinners, Thursday’s Mediterranean Dinner, and a Surf & Turf Dinner on both Fridays and Saturdays. How fun! Get the family to don their cowboy hats (or sombreros!) and head on down to ELYMI on a Tuesday for a Tex-Mex fiesta! Prices for these dinners vary, so be sure to check the website first.

Sunday Brunch at ELYMI is $27.95 for ages 14 and up (20 percent off for seniors), and $16.95 for ages ten to 13, $10.95 for ages six to nine, and $6.95 for ages three to five. Also note that there is a strict 90-minute seating time limit for all guests. Sunday Brunch runs every Sunday from 10am to 2:30pm.

Yellow Door Bistro (119 – 12 Avenue SW)

If you’re looking for an elevated weekend brunch buffet, Yellow Door Bistro is your spot! Located at Hotel Arts, Yellow Door Bistro is an elegant and beautiful location to bring the family for brunch. Their buffet items include the classic breakfast items, plus dishes like grilled cheese, devilled eggs, and chocolate & marshmallow French toast. They recently added ham and egg bao buns to the line-up, which have a delicious sweet note to them. In fact, I chose to have the bao buns for dessert! Their desserts are decadent and beautifully displayed. Note that buffet items do change weekly, and I have been told that they even have shakshuka in the buffet some weeks.

Weekend Brunch Buffet at Yellow Door Bistro is $36.00 for ages 13 and up, $19.00 for ages four to 12, and free for three and under. Their Weekend Brunch Buffet is held on both Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 2pm.

Skyharbour Grill – Best Western Port O’Call Hotel (1935 McKnight Boulevard NE)

I had heard a lot great things about this breakfast buffet previously, but only recently attended to try it for myself. It was fantastic! I have to say that absolutely everything was delicious and fresh, and it’s another busy spot to get into so phone ahead for a reservation.

The salad bar had large, tasty shrimp and mussels.

The roast beef was delicious and cooked perfectly. There were unique items such as Mediterranean chicken and baked tilapia with lobster sauce. The kids will be happy to find the chicken nuggets and curly fries, as well as a chocolate fountain.

Skyharbour Grill also offers globally-inspired lunch buffets on weekdays from 11:30am to 2pm. They even have a pasta and pizza buffet offered on Friday and Saturday nights – you know the kids are going to enjoy that one!

Sunday Brunch at Skyharbour Grill is $34.95 for ages 12 and up, half price for ages four to 11, and free for three and under. Sunday Brunch runs weekly from 10:30am to 2pm.

Other Weekend Brunch Buffets in Calgary

Thomson’s Kitchen & Bar (located in the Hyatt, 112 – 8 Avenue SE, Calgary)

One of my all-time favorites. Sunday Brunch Buffet is weekly from 10am to 2pm. They have delicious and unique dishes that change weekly. $48.00 for ages 13 and up, and $24.00 for ages six to 12.

Green’s Restaurant (located in Hotel Blackfoot, 5940 Blackfoot Trail SE)

This place is child-friendly, has diverse cuisine options, and live music. The buffet is weekly from 10am to 2pm. It is $30.00 for adults, $24.00 for seniors age 60 and up, $16.00 for ages 12 to 17, and $13.00 for ages six to 11.

Sunday Safari Brunch at the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo (located in the ENMAX Conservatory Building)

Your brunch ticket includes admission to the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo! Tickets must be purchased at least a day in advance. Weekly from 9am to 2:30pm. During the low season (which is January 10 to May 10, 2026, and September 13 to November 1, 2026), prices are $49.95 for ages 16 to 59, $45.95 for ages 60 and up, and $29.95 for ages three to 15. During high season (which is May 11 to September 12, 2026) prices are $59.95 for ages 16 to 59, $55.95 for ages 60 and up, and $38.95 for ages three to 15.

Weekend brunch buffets allow families a relaxed atmosphere to eat, and there is something for everyone. When we combine two meals into one (breakfast and lunch), it allows us to indulge and makes the cost of “all-you-can-eat” worth the expense.
