Stories from The Confluence Daily Walking Tour.
Everyday from May 29, 2024 - Jun 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Runs daily Wed-Sun at 2 pm starting May 29. Take a 60-minute guided walking tour around the vibrant lands at The Confluence and learn some of the many histories of this significant place, including the history of the NWMP and their contribution to the birth of the city of Calgary, the railway, and the ways that many people have used this site since time immemorial. The walk is approximately 1.5 km and covers various terrains. Walks take place rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather. Access to the cultural centre requires additional admission. Recommended for ages 10+.

Wolf Willow Jewelry Workshop.

In this workshop, M├ętis artisan Janis Laboucane will teach you the history, uses, and preparation of the wolf willow bead, including the hands-on process of cleaning, boiling, piercing and drying the seeds to make beads. Janis will lead you in making your own set of a bracelet and earrings made from wolf willow! All materials are supplied and yours to take home if you don't finish your pieces during the workshop.

Stories with Sheldon First Rider: Traditional Blackfoot Plants.

Storytelling has been a way to pass down wisdom and knowledge by the Blackfoot people since time immemorial. Through the oral tradition, Blackfoot Elder Sheldon First Rider will share stories from Blackfoot culture in this intimate one-hour program. Every month, Sheldon will speak on a different topic, covering everything from mythology and food to history and spirituality.
