This event showcases over 175 multi-genre feature and short films from Canada and around the world at the largest film festival in Alberta.

The classic story of a mama, papa, and baby bear who meet a very curious little girl, presented in the fun and unique Loose Moose style. The Loose Moose Theatre Company makes going to the theatre an experience that is truly magical for children four to ten years old, as well as fun and entertaining for the grown-ups.

A fall trip to the Farmyard is an annual tradition for many families and friends. In addition to enjoying hours of fun on the farm, pumpkins are on display for photos and for purchase.

All farm activities are open, and the farm is lit up in fantastic display (except the corn maze of course, which remains dark as an added challenge for visitors to find their way through with their flashlights.) Pumpkins are available for photos and purchase in the evening too.

Calgary Unplugged is an annual family-friendly Earth Hour event. 100% volunteer-run education charity, Ripple Foundation unveils its inaugural virtual conference, headlined by New York Times bestselling author, Nic Stone. Advocating creative literacy among Canadians in grades four to 12, the conference, Express. Inspire. Connect, takes place on Saturday, October 1st, 2022. Kids, tweens and teens across the country are gearing up for a highly-anticipated day of workshops, giveaways, roundtables, experiential activities, plenary sessions and more. Designed to encourage expression, inspire the next generation to explore creative writing skills in educational, professional and personal settings, and connect on topics that matter to them, attendees will also hear from inspiring special guests, including Canada’s first Olympic Cycling Gold Medallist and author, Lori-Ann Muenzer. The first 100 ticket-buyers will be entered into a giveaway to win a signed copy of Stone’s latest book, Fast Pitch. As well as making the conference possible, ticket sales, sponsorships and donations will support Ripple Foundation’s free programs throughout the year that include weekly Write It Workshops and Wave Blogs to equip Canada’s next generation with the creative literacy skills they need to succeed. Experience the work of Tahltan-Tlingit master carver Dempsey Bob at the immersive ‘Wolves: The Art of Dempsey Bob’ exhibition. The exhibition features 65 works and is the first-ever retrospective of Bob’s career from the 1970s to the present. Visitors to the exhibition will discover a selection of masks, sculpture and regalia, complemented by Bob’s work in bronze casting and vestment production. In his works, Bob reinterprets the traditional characters and iconography from the age-old stories of his people, at times transforming those traditional tales with European influences. Takes place November 19 to January 2 (excluding November 23, 28 & 30 and December 3, 25 & 31). ZOOLIGHTS, presented by Olympia Trust Company, is back for its 25th year! This year's ZOOLIGHTS will feature exciting new themed areas and activities including a 25th anniversary Memory Lane, the Nutcracker in the ENMAX Conservatory, and an all-new “Tunnel of Light,” a tribute to Canada’s wetland, a holiday Zoo Market, and a very special “Dinos at Night” experience like you have never seen before! Of course, the Zoo is bringing back all the classic activities everyone has come to love like the Skating Rink, Fire pits, and Rival Axe Throwing. ZOOLIGHTS comes to life at night with twinkling lights at every turn, including over 200 light figurines, along with interactive and choreographed light displays. The lights are turned on at 5pm nightly and run until 9pm. It takes approximately 90 minutes to 2 hours to experience all that ZOOLIGHTS has to offer - but you are able to stay for as little or as long as you like!

This is a 1 hour, 10 week class held Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm, beginning September 22, 2022 Youth Campfire Bootcamp 101 for 9-13 year olds is a spinoff of the popular Campfire Bootcamp 101 for adults. Whether just beginning or experienced, students are given the opportunity to play and sing fun, varied songs appropriate to their age group. The songs are written out in an easy to understand format with basic instruction on how to approach accompaniment and soloing. Variations are included on how to expand those techniques to ensure all students reach their potential. Class size is kept small so students receive personalized instruction and the setlist is chosen primarily by the students. Topics explored include: Open Position Chords Bass Lines Singing while Playing Simple Melodies Basic Lead Technique Percussive Accompaniment No experience is necessary, however basic guitar technique is helpful. Enrollees are required to have their own instrument and a capo.
