This year, the City of Calgary is teaming up with CityTV to host the annual New Year's Eve celebration at Olympic Plaza. There will be loads of free entertainment for all ages, live music performances and a guaranteed good time for the whole family.

Shake Up Winter

Winter can be a dreary time of year, promoting indoor, sedentary activity. This is the main reason that kids and adults tend to gain weight during these months. Winter is also sometimes associated with feelings of sadness or depression, which may be alleviated by sunlight and enough physical activity. Therefore, despite the challenges of cold, wet weather, winter is the perfect time to encourage your kids to try outdoor activities like ice-skating, skiing, snow-boarding, sledding or snow-shoeing, to keep them active and energized through even the coldest days.
